- In the Watershed, trailing currant is occasionally found mid-elevation on both sides of the Valley, often in subalpine spruce forests. The Colorado distribution (central and west-slope Rockies) is disjunct from the rest of the USA distribution, which is the Cascades and the panhandle of Idaho. The Watershed population extends a little ways down the Rio Grande drainage into New Mexico (Rio Arriba and Sandoval counties), but occurrences there are uncommon.
