- Sticky geranium is found in dry sloping meadows, forest openings, and once by a logging road (S of Creede in Mineral Co, 2003). It is not often recorded from the Watershed, although common in Colorado counties to the east and the west. There are a few observations from the San Juans (e.g., Manga pass in Conejos Co, 1983; Cat Creek in Rio Grande Co, 2003), and none from the east side of the Valley (although Hogan and Elliot 2022 report one collection from Hayden Creek campground just to the east of the Watershed in the North Cristos). The Rio de los Pinos photorecord of 2015 would add Conejos indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). The species has been recorded from Taos and Colfax counties of New Mexico, and these Rio Grande drainage locations (there are none farther south) lie at the southeast corner of the USA distribution, which is all states west of the Great Plains.
