- Purple cluster geranium has been commonly collected from all mountain regions of the Watershed except for the Culebras (but it has been recorded from the extension of the Cristos into New Mexico). The plant likes steep, rocky habitats, including outcrop faces and talus slopes. It is found in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and far western Texas, following the Rio Grande as far as Terrell Co, TX.
