- In the Watershed the distribution of Sierra fumewort is confined to the south San Juans, where it is locally common; for instance, around Fish Lake in Conejos Co and Big Meadows Reservoir in Mineral Co. These populations of Corydalis caseana seem stable. The Big Meadows Reservoir population was recorded as late as 2023 (iNaturalist observation #173705856). The USA distribution of the species is very scattered, with isolated presence in western Oregon, northern California, central Idaho, northern Utah, and southwestern Colorado. C. caseana extends down the Rio Grande watershed only as far as Rio Arriba Co, New Mexico. For more photos and comment, click "yes" in the Annotation field below.
