- Of tiny Comastoma tenellum there are only a few Watershed collections. All locations are from the southwest of the Valley, in the South San Juans (where Sharples 2017 found it "rare on tundra'), except for Brandegee’s 1877 record loosely labeled “Saguache, (Crestone), Sangre de Cristo.” In the USA, the species is found in scattered locations around the West. From the Watershed the species extends south into New Mexico with only a very few occurrences from Taos and Santa Fe counties.
