- Comments
- Whereas Platanthera obtusata can be common in the woods of northern USA, in the Watershed the species has been collected infrequently. The plant is difficult to detect, small and often hidden in confier understory. There are eight records from the south San Juans (only from Conejos and Mineral counties) and one from the north Cristos (Saguache Co). The Mineral county photorecord would add to counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). The species follows the Rio Grande drainage only as far as Taos Co, New Mexico. Its USA distribution follows the Rocky Mountains to the Canadian border and includes the mountain ranges of Washington State and the Great Lakes region on up into Maine.
