Comments
In the Watershed, Linum australe is found on dry grassy slopes, but so far only from the west side of the Watershed: from Carnero Creek (Saguache Co) down to Terrace Reservoir and Fox Creek (Conejos Co). In good years the flower is abundant locally. Other years it is rarely encountered. The USA distribution is centered in Arizona and New Mexico, with scattered locations in the Rocky Mountains up to the Canadian border. The species follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico to the Big Bend country of Texas.
