- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are six vouchers, from Saguache, Rio Grande, and Conejos counties, none accepted by BONAP. All may be misidentifications of Linum australe (L. aristatum and L. australe are not easy to tell apart). Of these records, the Saguache Co location (on Carnero Creek) and the Conejos Co location (near Terrace Reservoir) were recently visited and only L. australe found. Allred et al. (2020), however, record L. aristatum from all Rio Grande drainage counties in New Mexico, from the border with Colorado down to Mexico. A recent iNaturalist observation (10 June 2023, #166929635) is from near the Rio de los Pinos cpgd, about 4 km south of the Colorado border and Conejos Co. The USA distribution is restricted to north Arizona, south Utah, most of New Mexico, and west Texas, where the species follows the Rio Grande drainage east to the Big Bend country).
