In the Watershed, dwarf clover is typically a tundra plant, although occasionally it grows among Engelmann spruce in the subalpine. Trifolium nanum has been found in all mountain regions of the Watershed. It is a Central and Southern Rockies plant, but extends down the Rio Grande drainage mountains of New Mexico only as far as Santa Fe Co.
