- In the Watershed longstalk clover is common in mesic habitats, montane and higher: edges of woods, high elevation rills, mattress bogs, sometimes road ditches. This native is common on the west side of the Valley, but not collected from the north Cristos and only once from the Culebras (but often from the Rio Grande Cristos in New Mexico). Trifolium longipes is present in all USA states west of the Great Plains. It follows the Rio Grande drainage down midway in New Mexico (Valencia Co) but not farther down river. Note that the most common variety of this species in the Watershed is var. reflexum.
