- Brandegee's clover prefers mesic conditions—stream banks and snow melt meadows—and is found in the subalpine and alpine, only on occasion in the montane. In the Watershed, it has been collected only from the south San Juans. In New Mexico, the few collections, all from the Rio Grande watershed, come from the Cristos north of Taos. The USA distribution is confined to these few collections from New Mexico (down to Santa Fe Co) and more numerous ones from SW Colorado.
