- Most Watershed collections of subalpine clover are from the south San Juans, where the plant is fairly common. Only a few locations are in the Cristos. Allred et al. (2020) note that the distinction of Trifolium attentuatum from T. dasyphyllum (the deflexed flower head) is a weak one. They found T. attentuatum following the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico, at least to Santa Fe. The species is found only in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
