- In the Watershed this variety of nodding locoweed (usually identified as Oxytropis deflexa var. deflexa) is confined to a few high-altitude locations. Many are along the Continental Divide in Hinsdale, San Juan, and Saguache counties, but there are a few records from the Culebras in Costilla Co. In the USA this variety is found only in southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah. Heil, O'Kane, Reeves, and Clifford (2013) checked the types of Oxyropis deflexa var. deflexa from Siberia and determined that the Colorado occurrences noted here do not belong to that variety.
