- Comments
- King's lupine prefers lower elevations and rocky slopes more than do L. argenteus, L. caudatus, and L. sericeus. Its voucher locations are spread around the Valley—sometimes protected, although the frequency of collections does not seem to warrant the status. The species follows Rio Grande foothills down through New Mexico, but not into Texas. In the USA, it is primarily a desert Southwest plant, its distribution concentrated in Arizona, western New Mexico, southern Utah, and southern Colorado.
