- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For alkali locoweed there are two Watershed locations: Raspberry Creek in the Cristos north of Crestone (Saguache Co, 1942), and Limekiln Peak east of Del Norte (Rio Grande Co, 2003). The two, if correctly determined, would mark a southwestern edge of the plant in the central mountains of Colorado. But note that the plant is recorded from Taos and Santa Fe counties of New Mexico, within the Rio Grande drainage. The species grows in selenium substrate.
