NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Spiny milkvetch prefers volcanic ash and is common in the Cochetopa Dome region on the west of the divide, but it is little collected in the Watershed. There are three records in Mineral Co around Creede, the latest 1992; and one in Conejos Co, near Red Mountain, 8.76 miles W of Terrace Reservoir, 1989. It has been found in most of the states west of the Great Plains and follows the Rio Grande drainage into the upper half of New Mexico.
