- Ridge-seed sandmat is a native plant whose habitat is sandy or rocky sagebrush terrain or sometimes disturbed ground. In the Watershed it has been found only in the Upper Basin and surrounding foothils, for instance around the Great Sand Dunes NP headquarters (1991), in the Baca NWR (2012), at the base of Limekiln Peak in Rio Grande Co (2004), a few miles N of Saguache (1999). It should be expected in the Lower Basin since It follows the Rio Grande drainage from the Watershed all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. In the USA it is wide spread, found in all regions except for the southeastern quarter. Note that the separation of Euphorbia glyptosperma and E. serpyllifolia, both Watershed sandmats, requires examination of the seeds.
