- One-sided wintergreen is common in mesic understory of the montane and subalpine on both sides of the Valley. It is not yet collected from the Culebras but no doubt present there since there are many collections from the continuation of the Cristos on south into New Mexico. This monotypic flower grows in all USA states west of the Great Plains and across the northern states into New England. It is circumboreal. It follows the Rio Grande drainage no farther than Bernalillo Co, Newq Mexico
