- Comments
- Found throughout the Watershed, this dogwood is not widespread but rather shows up locally along streams, bogs, and other mesic environments; e.g. Conejos River in Conejos Co, Cat Creek in Rio Grande Co, along the Rio Grande running through Del Norte in Rio Grande Co. Note that the scientific name is still under discussion by experts. Treated as C. stolonifera, Allred et al (2020) show the plant following the Rio Grande drainage to the Mexican border. As C. alba, BONAP shows it in all states west of the Great Plains and across the top third of the country, with no records from the Rio Grande drainage of Texas.
