- Longstalk starwort may be the most commonly collected Stellaria in the Watershed, found in all vegetative zones, including alongside an Upper Basin irrigation ditch north of Monte Vista. The preponderance of vouchers for Stellaria longipes are from the San Juan Mountains south of the Rio Grande. The most common habitat for this delicate flower is open stream sides in the subalpine and alpine. In the USA, it is found in every state west of the Great Plains. It follows the Rio Grande drainage down to Socorro Co, New Mexico, but no farther down stream
