- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. In the Watershed, thick-leaved starwort has only a few scattered records: Saguache Co, close to Buffalo campground on Hwy 114 (1981); Saguache Co, Medano Canyon, north Cristos (1975); Rio Grande Co, near Summitville mine (1987); Conejos Co, between Fish and Blue lakes, just east of Divide (2001). It is usually found in wet meadows or forest openings, but is uncommon throughout Colorado and the rest of its range in the Rockies. There is one collection from Rio Arriba Co in New Mexico. These and the three Watershed observations are the only ones for the entire Rio Grande drainage.
