- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Of cane cholla, there is only one voucher from the Watershed, found near Ft. Garland in 1897. BONAP shows Costilla Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. Costilla Co is reasonable since this cactus is present in all counties of New Mexico, including those contingent to the Colorado Watershed. Cylindropunctia imbricata follows the Rio Grande drainage through to Texas Big Bend country. The USA range centers in New Mexico, with locations in southern Arizona, southeast Utah, the Front range piedmont and Plains of Colorado, and the Plains of Kansas, Oklhoma, and Texas.
