- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Thelypodiopsis aurea there are two Watershed records: “along Old Sanford Hwy, 1 mile south of Alamosa Co line" in an agricultural field (Conejos Co, 1994), and within the city limits of Alamosa in a residential back lot (Alamosa Co, 1998). Neither Ackerfield or BONAP show these locations. Otherwise in the USA the plant is narrowly restricted to the Four Corners region, resident in clay and alkali flats or sagebrush and pinyon-juniper communities, sometimes found on disturbed ground such as road cuts. The farthest south along the Rio Grande drainage is Sandoval Co, New Mexico.
